Description

A resurfacing project which involved laying a new surface macadam over the existing playgrounds. The specification called for new edgings and the existing ironwork and drainage gullies to be adjusted prior to surfacing. New aco channel slot drains were installed to help improve the drainage with the grass verge on one boundary being stripped of the untidy grass and weed before being replaced with artificial turf.

All work was finished within the school holidays.

Description

Construction of new parking facilities and access roads to the school’s site in Slough. Working over the summer holiday, the team carried out the bulk excavations and muck shift. Several teams were used to build the parking bays in brindle block paving and install the soakaways for the storm drainage at the same time. Our project manager was able to co-ordinate the work to so that each phase could be worked on without obstruction future sections. The access road was built to full carriageway construction, compacting layers of sub-base and macadam before the final layer of surface course was machine laid. White lines and parking bays were added just before handover.

Description

Hobart Paving Company run an extensive schools programme every summer for this Client, undertaking a variety of projects for schools across Surrey and Sussex. Project mainly involve the upgrading or installation of new play equipment such as climbing frames and fitness trails.

Often these schemes are packaged with surfacing playgrounds or surfacing MUGAs where the teams complete from start to finish.

Description

Improvements to a public space play area in the Neckinger Estate Southwark.

The old play equipment was removed and the installation of a new substructure for the play equipment was carried out. A new resin soft play rubber surface was laid on the stone sub-base after the area had been excavated and the team had disposed of the old tarmac play area. Fencing and seating completed the superb project.

Job Title

Gossops Green School – Decking and Pond Dipping Project

Gossops Green School – Crawley

Description

Construction of a new path and board walk to a decking area along with a pond and nature area for the school. Ground clearance and excavation for the new pond was carried out using cut and fill to reprofile the ground levels. A new pond was constructed and lined with the edges formed in natural stone boulders and planted.

New tarmac paths were constructed and we erected log retaining walling. The area was then enclosed with timber palisade fencing and gates.

Access to the dipping area was formed in decking planks fitted to posts and bearers. The decking and substructure designed and built on site using treated timber and recycled plastic.
Work was undertaken during school holidays and completed in term time.
