Description

Resurfacing the entrance to the local shopping parade car park. The work was undertaken during normal working hours and the team were able to close the entrance and direct vehicles through an alternative exit. The existing surface was scarified with a road planner and prepared with a spray applied tackcoat emulsion before hand laying a new DBM 10mm surface macadam. We appointed a subcontractor to paint the road markings before opening the road to traffic.

Description

Hobart Paving resurfaced the tennis courts and hard play areas to the rear of Sackville School East Grinstead over the course of a week during the school holidays. 250 tonnes of specialist play surface macadam was machine laid to 5 courts, the material was supplied locally and transported on short wheelbase lorries to access the awkward site. New tennis net sockets were installed as part of the preparation works, all finished off with spray applied court markings.

Description

Improvements to the communal parking areas, including the reconstruction of the forecourts to the parking area in Coniston Crescent. The parking area had to be temporarily closed to allow the excavation and removal of the existing failed surface prior to reconstructing to Slough BC specifications. New sub-base and macadam layers were laid by the team using excavators and rollers before a paving machine was brought to site to lay the final surface course.

The project also required new fencing and slab paving improvements to footpath and drying areas.

The current phase of expansion and improvements at the Surrey and East Sussex Hospital at Redhill involved the addition of new modular wards. The arrived on site already fitted out and ready to install on foundations and infrastructure installed by Hobart Paving. Working in close conjunction with the hospital and suppliers the units were delivered and installed over one weekend. We excavated for and constructed the new foundations, positioning the service pipes and power connections ready for the units to be lowered into place. Subcontractors completed the internals and the units were up and running within weeks.

Construction of new car park for redevelopment of Centenary Court in Basingstoke. The work included demolition and reconfiguration of the existing site and forming a new car park with associated drainage for 110 cars. Our construction teams completed the groundworks and used over 500t of sub-base recycled from the demolition of the old structures on site. New drainage soakaways were constructed beneath the new parking areas and the verges and islands were planted up with shrubs.

A paving machine was used to lay the tarmacadam base and binder courses over two days, finally topping off with the surface course in one visit laying 220t of 10mm DBM macadam. The line marking with all bays individually numbered took place before the car park opened.

Description

As part of a scheme to improve safety on a busy west London trading estate, we were contracted by SEGRO to undertake resurfacing works in the main entrance to the estate.

The specification called for planning out the existing failing surface course and replacing with a reinforced heavy duty macadam stone mastic surface course. In order to avoid disruption to the businesses on the estate the work was carried out at night. Closing the main gate, we used a 2m tracked planer to remove the old surface directly into tippers lorries, we spray applied tack coat emulsion along with fixing the reinforcing mesh to the planned surface before machine laying 120t of heavy duty SMA surface course. Work was completed in the early hours ready for the first vehicles the next day. The following evening line markings, zebra crossings and speed humps were fixed.

Description

Surfacing improvements at the end of Mike Hawthorne Road, Farnham, where it accessed an existing car park.

The gradient of the road was too steep and vehicles were grounding as they travelled up the slope. The remit was to remove the kerbs, excavate the old carriageway and reconstruct the road to highway standards.

Using a 5t excavator,  half the width of the road was dug out, removing 8 loads of spoil. recycled stone sub-base was imported, compacting with a twin drum Bomag120 roller before hand laying the base, binder and surface course macadams. Each side being completed before opening up to traffic.

The yellow no parking lines finished the job.

Description

Resurfacing of the aisles in Riverside car park. Budget restraints meant that the parking spaces were to be left un-surfaced so we had to carefully plane and saw cut the edges of the existing bays. The aisle was planed with a 1m road planer, removing the top of the existing tarmac ready to receive the new surface course macadam.  A paving machine was used to lay the new 10mm DBM macadam. The line marking gang followed behind to refresh the bays and mark out new disabled spaces.

Description

As part of the redevelopment at Salvation Place caravan park, we under took the construction of a new site plot, excavating for the new parking area with 360° excavators in a restricted location. The spoil was removed by a grab lorry which also delivered the stone sub-base. Our team worked at the rear of a live site, taking care to cause minimal disruption to the residents, with the movement of plant and lorries carefully managed. The plot was constructed to Surrey County Council standards, the concrete kerbs and edgings laid on a concrete bed.

The surfacing, in DBM macadam was carried out by our own surfacing gang using our Bobcat skid steer and Bomag 80 Roller.

Breakspear Park, Hemel Hempstead is an impressive business centre on a 16-acre landscaped site close to the M25 with many businesses on campus. We were contracted to extend the parking facilities through Workman, the management company employed to oversee the management of the estate. The project required the excavation and shaping of the adjacent land to form a tarmac and grass block construction car park extension to the existing parking layout. Much of the earthworks were carried out by ourselves with hired in excavators and construction plant. Imported materials formed the road construction with reduced fines sub-base going below the grass blocks which were subsequently filled with soil and seeded.
