the most popular solutions to surfacing are:

Wet Pour

Wet pour rubber is a soft spongy impact absorbing rubber surface for playgrounds, schools or anywhere there is a necessity for an outdoor play setting. Wet pour is ideal for the reducing risk to children and allowing them to play freely and safely.

It is a rubber based flooring material made from EPDM rubber granules. These are mixed with a binder and then screeded onto a sub-base such as macadam, stone or concrete. Wet pour’s versatility means it may be used for many applications such as noise deadening of pavements, special need provision, outdoor class rooms, bridges, elderly care and many more. It is a low maintenance product which be patch repaired if damaged.

Rubber Playground Mulch

Rubber Playground mulch is flexible and durable. It has the appearance of tree bark, so is visually pleasing, however, the actual material consists of waste tire buffing or synthetic rubber. Rubber mulch is available in different colours, but brown or green is more popular due to the natural look of the finished product.

This material can be installed at different depths to further absorb any falls that may occur, and is normally useful where there is greater risk of falls from height.

Rubber mulch can be bound in resin to keep the area neat, or laid as a shredded finish.

Artificial Grass Area

For areas that require a more natural and simplified appearance, artificial grass is a great solution to use. It is available in different thicknesses, stiffness and colour. Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibres made to look like natural grass. the main reason why this is used is for its easy maintenance as it stands up to heavy use and requires no irrigation or trimming.

With artificial grass, we can also install shock pads where there is a risk of a fall, typically around pay equipment.
